Mark Lesko is the Executive Dean at the Hofstra University Center for Entrepreneurship, established in the fall of 2015 to provide Hofstra University’s students, faculty, staff and alumni with the skills necessary to become accomplished entrepreneurs and to connect to Long Island’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Mark also leads Accelerate Long Island’s seed fund efforts, including the first $500,000 Accelerate Long Island Seed Fund matched by the Long Island Emerging Technologies Fund with a portfolio of ten high-tech startup companies. Mark is about to launch second $3 million seed fund, which will involve $1.5 million of investment from New York Ventures. Mark was previously the Supervisor of the Town of Brookhaven - New York’s second-largest Town with 486,000 residents - for over three years. Prior to serving as Supervisor, Mark was a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Department of Justice for ten years in Washington D.C., Brooklyn and Long Island, where he served as Deputy Chief of the Long Island Criminal Division. Mark is a graduate of Yale University and he received his law degree from Georgetown University Law School.
